McMillan Associates is pleased to have partnered with Red Bull North America to produce three installments of Red Bull Writer’s Block at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama.  In 2006, the third installment of this successful series was a day-long celebration of self-expression challenging twenty of the nation’s best graffiti artists to push the boundaries of their creativity.  The artists had eight hours to create their masterpieces on a section of three 48-foot rail containers. The completed pieces were shipped across the county by train in an effort to showcase the artists work. 

The entire process was captured on film through a 30-hour collegiate short documentary competition exposing the nuances of urban art and its artists. Eleven teams from colleges across the southeast participated, and their documentaries were screened and judged at the event’s finale completing a full weekend of activities.
